Day 01 : Departure from home Country
Day 02 : Chennai (Madras)
Arrive Chennai (Madras). Transfer to hotel.
Day 03 : Chennai (Madras) - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram
- Trichy
Full day tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The former was the main
port of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments,
monolithic structures and bas reliefs. It is also a beach resort.
Kanchipuram is famed for it's hand - woven cottons and kanjivaram silk.
Evening transfer to railway station for Trichy night train.
Day 04 : Trichy
Morning arrive Trichy & transfer to hotel.
Afternoon tour of Trichy visiting the ancient temples dedicated to Lord
Ganapathi - 434 steps cut out into the rock side and interspersed with
shrines, lead to the temple, yet another flight leads to the temple of
Lord Shiva. The ascend is climaxed by magnificient view of the sacred
Kaveri river. Visit Srirangam a massive temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu
which contains within its walls a bazzar.
Day 05 : Trichy - Tanjore - Madurai
Morning drive to Madurai enroute visiting the famous 9th century Chola
Temple Brihodeswara at Tanjore. Check in at hotel.
Day 06 : Madurai
Morning half day sightseeing tour. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple
dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams
(rising high above the surrounding country side). Later visit the
Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Saracenic style,
famous for the stucco work on its domes and arches. Afternoon free.
Day 07 : Madurai - Periyar
Morning drive to Periyar National Park.
This is one of the most prestigious regions on the high ranges of the
western ghats. One of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife
sanctuaries, the Periyar reserve is noted for its geomorphology, diverse
wildlife and beautiful landscape. The drive to Thekkady itself is
enchanting as the road winds through Tranquil countryside, rich
plantations and thick jungles. The sanctuary, declared a tiger reserve
in 1978 under the project tiger scheme, attracts travellers from all
over the world. This is the only sanctuary in India where the wild
elephant can be observed and photographed at close quarters. There are
two watch towers in the Periyar forest.
Day 08 : Periyar - Cochin
Morning drive to Cochin. Check in at hotel.
Day 09 : Cochin
Morning half day tour to visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue ,
Chinese fishing nets, & St.Francis Church . Afternoon free.
Day 10 : Cochin - Ooty
After breakfast drive to Ooty - One of the most popular hill resort of
India. .On arrival check-in at hotel. Afternoon free to relax and
unwind. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 : Ooty - Mysore
After breakfast depart for Mysore. On arrival check-in at hotel.
Afternoon free to relax and unwind. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 : Mysore
After breakfast half day city tour visit mysore palace, chamundi hills
and brindaban gardens.
Day 13 : Mysore - Chennai (Madras)
Transfer to railway station for Chennai (Madras) train. Arrive &
transfer to hotel.
Day 14 : Departure
Transfer to airport for return flight.
