Lakkdi:
Located at a distance of juts 5 Km. Lakkdi is a gateway to
Wayanad. Your tour will be memorable for mountain cliffs, brooks and
woodlands.
Pookot Lake:
It is the unique perennial fresh water lake tucked in
the rocky hills. You will enjoy seeing the children's park, the handicrafts'
emporium, the spice emporium and a fresh water aquarium here.
Edakkal Caves:
A part of Ambukuthi Hills, these caves are Wayanad
district. The tourist here are amused to see the formation of these caves by
an enormous gap in the rocks.
Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary:
Established in 1973, this wildlife
sanctuary of Wayanad is well secured and much maintained. A home to many
exotic flora and fauna, this sanctuary also has trees of teak and bamboo.
Chembra Peak:
It is one of the highest peak in Wayanad ideal for
trekking expeditions. Just get your backpack and get going to undertake an
adventurous trekking expedition.
Chain Tree:
The place has legendary association ever since the times
of British colonialism. The folklore abounds this place.
Soojipara Falls:
You get to see the magnificent view of these
waterfalls that are distantly located in the forests. Trek around the forest
and then you have a rendezvous with the spectacular waterfalls. Here you
enjoy trekking, frolicking and other water sports.
Meenmutty Falls:
It is the most spectacular and highest waterfalls
of Wayand. The tourists get to see the lush greenery and black rocks. The
daring ones can climb the zenith of these falls.
Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary:
It is about 100 Km form Vythiri and a
home to many extinct animals. This sanctuary of Niligiri Biosphere shelters
animals like bison, spotted deer, tiger, leopard, bear, wild boar and
elephant.
The Ambalavayal Heritage Museum:
Visit the museum to see the stone
weapons, clay sculptures and hunting equipments dating back to the 2nd
century AD. It is archaeologist's, historians' and traveler's delight.
