Aattukal Pongala

The Aattukal Bhagavathi Temple dedicated to the Goddess Bhagavathi is situated in Thiruvananthapuram city. The name 'Pongala' means 'to boil over' and refers to the ritualistic offering of porridge made of rice, sweet brown molasses, coconut gratings, nuts and raisins.
